Letters from Schools
Good morning dear Thouret Foundation team,
I am writing to you on behalf of Regina Coeli School. I want to thank you for for sharing the foundation’s newsletter. And finally, to share with you the highlights of our recent Advent celebration. This year is particularly significant, as we have the honour of celebrating the bicentenary of Saint Jeanne Antide Thouret, founder of the Sisters of Charity. In our educational approach, we wanted to give the children an experience rich in meaning and values. For the occasion, each student was invited to become a witness of peace, solidarity and brotherhood, following the example of Saint Jeanne Antide. This mission fits perfectly into our educational project, which aims not only to educate our young people, but also to prepare them to become responsible citizens marked by compassion and love for their neighbours. Saint Giovanna Antida inspires us with her dedication and commitment to those most in need. Her life is a model of charity and service that we wish to pass on to our students. Therefore, throughout the preparation for this celebration, we encouraged the children to reflect on the importance of their daily actions. Class discussions focused on how everyone can be an agent of peace and solidarity in their own community, following the example of our patron saint. On the day of the celebration, families were invited to join us for this meaningful event. This festive occasion helped to strengthen the bonds within the educational community.
One of the highlights of the celebration was undoubtedly the presentation of the statue of Saint Giovanna Antide to the priest of our parish. This statue is a symbol of our attachment to the values she embodies. At the end of this celebration, it seems clear to us that the message of peace, solidarity and brotherhood that we sought to convey in honour of Saint Giovanna Antide has resonated in the hearts of our students and their families. We hope that this event will help to strengthen our school community around the values of charity and altruism, while honouring the memory of someone who did so much for the most disadvantaged. We would like to thank you for your continued support of our school and our educational mission. Your commitment to perpetuating the legacy of Saint Giovanna Antide is a source of inspiration for all of us. Together, we can continue to work towards a more just and benevolent world. I offer you my most respectful and cordial regards.
