Art. 4 The contest’s title is “A ROAD CALLED CHARITY”. In order to contribute to human growth and dignity, and to promote the common good, the Foundation Thouret is launching an artistic journey aimed at bringing together civic engagement and spirituality.

In this historical time marked by the exponential growth of wealth in the hands of the elite, to the detriment of the poverty of many, and by the spreading of what Pope Francis calls “culture of waste” and marginalization that make indifference and cynicism part of the poor’s daily experience, we wish to follow a path of communion and universal fraternity, reaffirming the central role of Charity in community life. Charity, in Pope Francis’ words, “is not a sterile performance or a simple donation to silence our conscience, it is the embrace of God our Father to each person, especially to the least and the suffering, who have a preferential place in his heart”. Each work shall then tell about places, histories and people who distinguished themselves in counteracting marginalization and poverty. We wish to know encouraging examples especially among young people committed to building a more fraternal and just society.

Art. 5 Participation norms: participants may freely choose the technique for their work. Each student may submit only one work. The first and last name of the author, the work’s title and a short description have to be written on the back side of the work. For the “drawing” section also comic stripes with text are accepted, on a paper-sheet A4 or else not larger than 24×33 cm (drawing album). Failure to comply with these requirements will result in exclusion from the contest. The maximum weight allowed is 1,5 MB per image. Photographs with logo, signature, watermark or other identifiable marks won’t be accepted. Each photograph and drawing have to be sent, together with the registration form, to the following e-mail address: concorso@fondazionethouret.org, the subject of the mail has to be: “A road called Charity – International Contest”.
